Review: The Sea King

The Sea King The Sea King by C.L. Wilson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The book was good but not great. Or perhaps I expected much better from C.L Wilson. The problem with her writing I feel is that the characters always becomes 10x more powerful in the climax.

In every book of C.L Wilson, the good team is able to destroy even the strongest of the enemy way too easily to my liking. She needs to work on that area.

But romance always makes up for the above draw back. The scenes are super hot and steamy.

I probably will read the next book just for the sake of romance.

Review: Illusions of Fate

Illusions of Fate Illusions of Fate by Kiersten White
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A very unique book.

I liked the way that the author linked all the various characters in the book. When i was reaching towards the end of the book, i was thinking that may be i am reaching a cliff hanger since it looked like the book has lot of things left to tell but the ending of the book was very easy and abstract.

The author made the correct kill in the end. Killing of villians isn't always hard. Also not every person is born criminal. The book showed how the criminals are born out of the society.

This was a good blend of fantasy and romance. I loved this book a lot.

Review: Undelivered Letters

Undelivered Letters Undelivered Letters by J. Alchem
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great book. I liked the way all the 3 stories were linked together with the respective letters. It brought tears to me. It was a time letters meant so much to us. We have forgetten the value of emotions which comes from letters. The phone calls are no justice for them. The author took us to those days back.. I will recommend you guys to read this book and then take a look back to that letter which changed your life...

Review: Red Winter

Red Winter Red Winter by Annette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Truth to be told even till the end i never understood/able to remember all the various terms for the priest and their body holders. I only thing i properly understood was the name of the characters and the gods and the few ones which were easy to spell and remember lol like Kai, Yukei, ... but i still enjoyed this a lot.

I dont know anything about this culture or the myths or the life style of the people who live in this country and the book rarely touched those stuff and that is what i liked the most about it. I once read a book which was written by an American author based on Indian Mythology and Culture but when i read it, i was so angry with the author because the way she described India was completely opposite. Many people read these books and some even think that at least to some extent the facts are actually true. So its important to keep the credibility of the culture you are writing about.

While writing books of this kind it is important to do justice to the culture you are writing about. So i am glad the author never stepped outside the Shrine and kept everything within it. It was all about the characters and their story.

What i liked the most about the book is our Fox & the art work. The art work was amazing. The book got interesting only when this guy popped inside out of no where. The romance was just another great addition. From author's writing style i don't think she will bring a love triangle in book 2 but i hope it doesn't happen.. We went on a borderline love triangle in this book and i dont want to touch that in future.

Recommended to everyone who likes a good fantasy filled romance. For the fans of books of Grace Draven.

Review: Riven

Riven Riven by Colleen Vanderlinden
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I really didn't wanted to even write a review for this book. But I had to do that. This book had so many short comings.

The thing which I disliked the most was that "Women want Marlaai" but the men doesn't like them and you can guess why the women want marlaai but because of the queen.

I very much disliked the fact that how the War king of human was portrayed in this book. They kept saying that it is because of him that all the people lost their family & relatives but it truth all he did was defend against Marlaai. What will you do when your country is attacked?? Just surrender??

I don't even know why I read this book in the very first place..

Review: The Knowing

The Knowing The Knowing by Sharon Cameron
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sam remembers everything, including her days when she was in the womb of her mother and she is not the only one who does that. They are called knowing. The are ruled by council but Sam knows something that she wasn't supposed to know. She knows that the council is lying and hiding something and exploring that is what happens through the book.

This book is not made for all the audience because the phasing is slowing. They show the society as a whole, their troubles, the truth of how people can be blind and live in ignorance because the truth is that we don't want to worry and leave the things the way they are.

The city of cannon was great. I liked the way everything was linked well with part 1. When the book started I thought there is something wrong because the book 1 and 2 are completely apart. Then slowly it intervined with the story of Nadia from part 1.

Recommended for everyone that loves a slow paced mystery. The readers who like more belief.
