Review: Becoming Alpha

Becoming Alpha Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 Stars

Becoming Alpha is about a teenage girl who has lived her entire life cast out from everyone and when her parents decide to move out she is excited to start a new life with a hope that she won't have to be the freak anymore but only if she can control her visions but we don't get what we always expect and sometimes the things which happen are for our own good.

Considering that this book is Debut book the author has done a great job, I usually don't like reading all the werewolf and vampire books but i thought of giving it a try and i am glad that i did it because i think i will like to read many more books on werewolf's. It can be read as a standalone there is no cliffhanger and the author also has set a good plot for the future books in the series.

I may have liked this book because it was totally new stuff for me and i have nothing to compare it with. The things i liked the most was the alpha dominant nature over their mate, Tessa hate over the word mate and there quite a few jokes on about the whole mate thing.

After all the praises now its time for the criticism. The most important thing in the books of paranormal is that they should be a hidden society among the the humans and the werewolf's believe themselves to be hidden but the author wasn't able to make it perfect in that way because the new town where Tessa moved to felt like everyone know about the wolves and if was the case then how come it never made it to media? The few scenes which make me say that are 1) Party 2) Pizza Delivery 3) Mall.

At all those locations it felt to me that the humans of that particular town already know about the wolves or atleast that something is wrong with people of St.Alibe. There are few other mistakes but i think those can be ignoerd.

Characters

Tessa: Since the entire book was written from her point of view we were able to understand her well enough. Her character changes a bit after she becomes a wolf and i must say she only get better.

Dastien: Tessa's mate, Nearly half of the book Tessa was mad at him and it was bound to happen because she was new to the life of alpha. I liked him but since there was not a single chapter from his POV we can only determine his character from all the things Tessa told to us but its not much to determine the character in full.

Last Verdict: Recommended to those who like to read Paranornal - Romance.
